"Complaint" is a punk band from the Netherlands, delivering their debut album released a couple of years ago (2015), We’re Right, You’re Wrong, with 11 tracks that wrap up in a fast and furious 18 minutes. The album channels raw energy and a gritty, DIY vibe reminiscent of 80s hardcore, leaning into both classic hardcore sounds and the distinct style of Oi! punk. This rough, unrefined style highlights the band’s stripped-down, "less-is-more" approach, creating a refreshing break from overproduced stadium punk.

The lyrics are straightforward and uncompromising, reflecting frustration, rebelliousness, and even some introspective themes like lost friendships and life choices. Songs like “On the Floor” and “All the Same” stay true to themes of resilience, individuality, and defiance. While the sound is intense, some tracks introduce subtle variations in speed and tone; "Life I Chose" races forward, while "Shadowwalkers" eases back with a grittier, Oi-inflected rhythm. It’s not groundbreaking, but it resonates, capturing the raw spirit of hardcore.

We’re Right, You’re Wrong is worth checking out for fans of classic hardcore and those looking for an unpolished, authentic punk experience. Keep an eye out for updates as it looks like this will be one of those word-of-mouth bands with serious underground appeal.
