I know it was some time ago but this epic festival had to be included in my new blog.
Oi! in Hoofddorp delivered a dynamic and unforgettable weekend for punk enthusiasts, with a line-up that brought together some of the best Oi! punk bands from across Europe. This year's edition was headlined by the iconic Cockney Rejects from the UK, whose set was the pinnacle of the festival, giving the crowd exactly what they came for—classic, raw Oi! energy.
The festival, masterminded once again by longtime Oi! promoter Jordy, continues to evolve with each edition. Jordy has a keen eye for balancing international headliners with fresh, undiscovered talent, which has made Oi! in Hoofddorp a go-to event for punk fans. In previous years, Jordy has booked incredible acts like Daydrinker, Rotten, Nonchalant, Collapse, Lion’s Law, RANCŒUR, Savage Beat, and The Reapers, helping cement the festival’s reputation for being more than just another punk show—it's a celebration of street culture and music from across Europe.
This year's line-up built on that legacy, featuring a mix of veterans and emerging bands: Crim from Spain, the ever-popular Dutch Oi! band The Reapers, Claimed Choice from France, Tear Up from the UK, and The Young Ones, another talented Dutch band. Each act brought their own flavor of Oi! and punk to the stage, ensuring that the energy never dropped across the weekend.
A personal highlight of the festival was Tear Up, a band that embodies the raw, unapologetic essence of street punk. Their fast, aggressive sound and rebellious attitude got the crowd worked up into a frenzy, and they proved to be one of the most memorable performances of the weekend. It’s no surprise that they’ve quickly become fan favorites, capturing the true spirit of the festival.
While Cockney Rejects were the stars of the weekend, delivering a nostalgia-filled yet powerful set, Crim stood out with their Spanish twist on punk, and The Reapers kept the local crowd energized with their sharp, fierce delivery. Claimed Choice and The Young Ones rounded out the weekend with strong performances, proving that Hoofddorp’s Oi! festival is as much about showcasing new blood as it is about celebrating legends.
Thanks to Jordy's careful curation and the relentless energy of the bands, this year’s Oi! festival in Hoofddorp was an unmissable experience. As the festival grows in stature, it remains a cornerstone of the European punk scene, continuing to give fans the raw, authentic experience they crave. If this year was anything to go by, Hoofddorp's Oi! festival will keep delivering the best of Oi! punk for years to come.
