Violent Way - A Need For Something More

Buffalo's Violent Way are back at it, slamming out their third full-length (now digital available). Formed in the shitstorm of 2020, these Oi! bruisers have been grinding through the hardcore scene with ties to the NYHC old guard, and after a killer US run with Agnostic Front and Murphy's Law, plus their annual "Oi!'s of Summer" bash, they've dropped A Need For Something More—a raw, anthemic beast that's all catchy choruses, boot-stomping riffs, and no-bullshit attitude. Quality over quantity, as guitarist/vocalist Nick Terlecky put it, and fuck yeah, it shows.

NOi!SE - On and On

Longstanding contributors to the streetpunk genre, NOi!SE have assembled On and On, a comprehensive anthology comprising singles, B-sides, contributions from split seven-inch records, and several previously unreleased compositions. Released through Pirates Press Records, a label with which the band has maintained a sustained collaboration, this album functions as a companion to their earlier compilation, Pushing On. It delineates the conclusion of a distinct phase in the band's trajectory, featuring the previous lineup, while facilitating a transition to forthcoming projects with a renewed ensemble (a new album is coming up). Spanning four years of periodic creative and recording endeavors, the collection exemplifies the band's commitment to employing anthemic, forthright music as a conduit for incisive social commentary, as articulated by vocalist Matt Henson.

Home Front - Watch It Die

Home Front's Watch It Die represents a compelling evolution in the band's sonic landscape, building upon the foundation laid by their prior releases, Games of Power and Think of the Lie. Comprising the Edmonton-based duo of Graeme MacKinnon on vocals, guitar, and bass, and Clint Frazier handling drums, drum machines, synths, and programming, the album distills decades of experience in DIY punk and grassroots music communities into a potent fusion of genres. Released on November 14, 2025, via La Vida Es Un Mus Discos, this twelve-track effort navigates themes of resilience amid alienation, offering a roadmap toward optimism without succumbing to naivety.

Pay Cut - Aiming Towards Nowhere

Helsinki crew PAY CUT—vets pieced from the wreckage of Abnormi, Maailmanloppu, Omaisuusvahinko, Pahaa Verta and The Boasters stacking 70 years of punk scars—unleashed their debut full-length in Nov '25, co-pressed by three labels cramming 12 tracks into 22 minutes of boot-to-the-gut fury. Born from the dusty streets of Finland's capital, these guys spit a brew of British oi stomp, US street punk sneer, and hardcore aggression, spiked with that melancholic Nordic edge that bites deeper than retreads.

Knife’s Edge - Let The Hard Times Roll

Kicking off 2026 with my first review, here's a look back at Knife’s Edge's "Let The Hard Times Roll" from 2025. Straight-up Oi! from the Arizona desert, where the heat must be fueling some serious street-punk fire. These scene vets—fronted by Brian Paulson (ex-Heavy Breather, Rotten Youth) and including Luke Lanham from North Side Kings—deliver a slab of anthemic boot-stompers that kick off slow and shouty, with choruses to rally the troops, before ramping up the pace.

First Attack - No Escape

In the ever-evolving landscape of Oi! and street punk, few figures command as much respect as Greg Huff. The Vancouver-based vocalist and guitarist, renowned for his contributions to seminal acts such as Bishops Green, Alternate Action, Subway Thugs, Glory Stompers, and The Lancasters, has long been a cornerstone of the subgenre's raw, anthemic energy. With First Attack—his latest endeavor alongside bassist Noah Heath, drummer Matt Vogler, and guitarist Robert Foster (the latter two also known from The Enforcers)—Huff returns to the fray with No Escape, a debut album that distills decades of scene expertise into a potent, unyielding statement.

Vilder - Vilder!

Straight out of the Limburg borderlands straddling Belgium and Holland, VILDER! slam together vets from On The Rampage, The Young Ones, The Agitators, and The Pruttles into a no-bullshit Oi! assault. This debut dropped on Contra in late '25, pressed on black or blood-red wax with a hefty sleeve and insert, and it's eight tracks of pure street-level fury.

Jackknife Johnny - Trading Aces

Sacramento's JACKKNIFE JOHNNY drops their first full-length on Oi!Tism. Nine originals plus a gritty take on ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE's "Animal," all backed by dual guitars that beef up the attack and open up the riffs. Soundwise, it's a raw blend of oi, punk edge, and hardcore blasts, but the artwork screams NYHC vibes, so I braced for straight beatdown. Nah—it's mostly thumping streetrock with bovver boot stomp, rolling mid-tempos that hit like terrace anthems. Feels more Euro oi crew than Cali hardcore, minus the soccer scarves.

Out Of Order - Lex Talionis

Alright, let's kick this off with the basics: "Lex Talionis" ain't just some fancy title slapped on a record—it's straight-up Latin for the "law of retaliation," that old-school eye-for-an-eye vibe from ancient codes like the Bible or Hammurabi's law. Think vengeance served cold, justice without the frills, where the punishment mirrors the crime. In the punk world, it screams back at the system: you screw us, we hit back harder. Fitting for Out of Order, Montreal's Oi! warriors who've been grinding since 2001, channeling that raw, working-class rage into anthems that kicks like a boot to the gut.

Proleterror - S/T

In the resilient spirit of street punk's storied lineage, Proleterror arrives from Spokane, Washington, as an unequivocal declaration of resistance. This ensemble, whose very name evokes the terror inflicted upon the working class, distills the genre's foundational urgency into a self-titled EP released in 2025.
